Here’s yet another reason to bone up on calcium. It may help reduce your risk of cancer.
A new study reveals that calcium is not only only for the bone development but also to reduce the risk of cancer.The study shows that older men and women who got the more calcium either in food and supplements will consume 16% lower risk of colorectal and other cancers of the digestive system and a women whom would have 23% lower than others.
Bone health is common to be known associated with a calcium but different effects are discovered on cancer. “Our study suggests that calcium intake is associated with a lower risk of total cancer and cancers of the digestive system, especially colorectal cancer,” write researcher Yikyung Park, ScD, of the National Cancer Institute and colleagues in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
